Full & Partial Dentures
Losing a tooth can be devastating, no matter what the reason. Whether your tooth loss occurs because of injury or poor oral health, the result is the same. Your self-esteem plummets and simple everyday actions like eating and speaking are a challenge.
If you’re considering tooth replacement, you may not even think of full or partial dentures as an option. It’s understandable because, until recently, dentures did not look very natural. But customized dentures designed by Dr. Anu Amara look, fit, and feel as much like natural teeth as possible!
We offer three types of dentures:
- Full dentures are used when no teeth are remaining in the gum line.
- Partial dentures fit around existing teeth and are held in place with clasps.
- Implant-supported dentures may be a full or partial denture held in place with dental implants.
Why Our Dentures Are Different
Improvements in materials and advances in technology now allow us to create state-of-the-art dentures that are customized specifically for you. Planning is the most important (and fun) part of the dentures process! We will work with you to plan every detail of your denture so that we achieve the natural, flattering results you are looking for.
The acrylic base of your denture is shaded to match your natural gum color. We design the dentures to fit your face and jaw shape and complement the color of your eyes and your skin tone. Natural teeth have subtle variations in position and spacing, and skilled lab technicians keep this in mind when placing each tooth individually in the base.
Living with Your New Dentures
Dentures at Nysa Family Dentistry don’t just look beautifully natural, they also conform to the shape of your jaw for a comfortable, secure fit and feel.
However, every new denture wearer goes through a break-in period. Don’t get discouraged if you have trouble adjusting to your dentures at first. Stick to a soft diet until you get used to eating with your dentures. Practice reading aloud to get used to the feel of talking with your dentures in place.
Above all, be patient with yourself. In very little time, you will find that you can go about your normal daily activities and forget you are even wearing dentures!
We have taken two excellent tooth replacement methods – dentures and dental implants – and combined them for the ultimate in stability and fit.
Our in-house oral surgeon, Dr. Usha Kolli, will expertly place implants at specific points along your jaw. Your denture is then designed to attach to the dentures to hold it securely in place. Implants can be paired with either full or partial dentures.
